With 30+ years in the entertainment business as a Producer, Director, Choreographer, Lighting Designer, a Production and Company Mgr., Bobby Boling’s experience in the entertainment industry is extensive in many different mediums; including: Theater, Stage, Concerts, Film, Live Music, Recording Studios, Music Videos and more. He has taught dance all over the world at every level from beginner through Advanced Professional. He wrote a book for dancers entitled, “A Dancer’s Manual – A Motivational Guide to Professional Dancing” that was published in 2000. He has written and developed shows, songs for shows, scripts and proposals; He’s been a lighting designer for country acts, rock n roll acts, pop acts, magicians, hypnotists, and during his years as the director and choreographer for Legends in Concert and Stars in Concert, just about any tribute artist you could think of! Directed and choreographed multiple productions of the show Legends in Concert nationally and internationally. Including Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Reno, Lake Tahoe, Branson, Myrtle Beach, to name a few. For the last 5 years, was also the lighting designer.
Directed, Choreographed, and managed over 100 corporate shows and events nationally and internationally for clients that included McDonalds, Sea Doo, AT&T, Wendy’s, and Ford Motor Company to name just a few.
Created, Directed and Choreographed additional shows produced by John Stuart including “Glitz” starring Allen and Rossi at the Sands Hotel/Casino Las Vegas, “Hypnomania” starring Marshall Sylver at the Sahara Hotel/Casino Las Vegas, “Rock Around the Clock,” MGM Grand Theme Park, Las Vegas, NV., “Cast a Spell”, a magic spectacular at Bally’s Hotel/Casino, Atlantic City, New Jersey to name a few.
Responsibilities also included scheduling cast and crew for shows/rehearsals, overseeing technical requirements and equipment, hiring and firing of employees.
V Theater, Miracle Mile Shops, Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas, NV.
Production / Company Mgr.
(2007-2010)
Worked for producer David Saxe as his production and company manager at the V Theater in Las Vegas. Responsibilities and duties included scheduling of performers as well as techs, ordering supplies and equipment, overseeing all functions and equipment of the theater from a performance as well as technical aspect. Supervision of all employees including handling vacations/sick leaves, payroll, hiring and firing, and various other duties involved when overseeing a large group of employees. The V Theater has rotating shows from noon until midnight 7 days a week, averaging 5 different shows playing consecutively. In his 3 years as the Production Manager for the V Theater, Mr. Boling oversaw the Load Ins, Load Outs, tech rehearsals, dress rehearsals, etc for more than 20 different shows. Mr. Boling was also the Lighting Designer for each show that performed in the V Theater during his tenure there.
An established dance teacher, having taught jazz, ballet and tap in NYC, Paris and Las Vegas. In Las Vegas, Mr. Boling was one of the top teachers at Backstage Dance Studio, as well as UNLV.
– 1995: Choreographed the Beach Boys World Tour
-1996: Choreographed a special water illusion for David Copperfield for one of his national television specials on ABC.
-2000: As an author, Mr. Boling published his book entitled “A Dancer’s Manual.” It sold over 20,000 copies worldwide and is, in fact, still available for purchase from Amazon.com. A copy still resides in the New York Public Library.
